Car Trouble
Well to say the least this weekend was not a lot of fun for me. As many of you expected me to be at the MDRA race for Round 9 at Doublin Gap I unexpectedly wasn't there. Unfortunetly I ran into some car trouble...well box van to be exact. Last weekend when I was leaving Budds Creek on my way home from round 8 of the MDRA series my box van, or motorhome as I like to call it now that it has a shower and all those goodies, decided it didn't like to shift. I ended up pulling over and letting the rolling brick cool down as the temp gauge started rising above normal and then set back on my way home form Maryland. This time she ran fine. Shifted smooth, and at one point I didn't have any problem going well over 60mph, while still staying in the legal speed limit of course. Then I was using it to pick up some things during the week and it started acting up again to the point where the only way I could get anywhere was if I crawled at a staggering 20MPH. Unfortunetly, if my vehicle doesn't run I can't get to the races. Yes I could have drove my pickup but then came the problem if I don't fix it now how am I going to fix it during the week while I'm working? and I came to the conclusion that the best thing to do, also the worst for the weekend, was to tap out and fix the rolling brick and that is how I spent my weekend, under the hood of that beast.
With Lorettas coming up only two weeks away I got stuck between a rock and a hard place. Sometimes life goes your way and sometimes it doesn't, and I seem to have the worst luck. So with that being said, its not an excuse but it is my explanation of why I wasn't around this past weekend, and from the looks of the racers that showed up it looks like I really missed out on delivering everyone some good race coverage. So I apologize to everyone that wanted to see the Saturday night video from Saturdays practice and expected to catch themselves here on EastMX from Sundays race coverage. Anyway looks like I'll still be taking the drive to TN for Lorettas and focusing on all the east coast motocross racers showing everyone else how the east side gets it done.
If you're looking for photos from the MDRA event at Doublin Gap, Rob Harris was on hand to snap some photos and will be posting a written report Wednesday of all the racing.

By the way, thank you for those who offered to lend a hand.
