It is just days away from the  biggest amateur national event of the year. Loretta Lynn's dude ranch in Hurricane Mills TN. Bar none, this is the place to lay down your best laps of the year. It is the national title that all the amateur's want in their resume. Some guys have been racing week in and week out getting ready for the week long championship event. Others have all but went and hid out! Not wanting to take any chances in getting hurt before the big dance. Which approach is right? Well, you got me there?. I tried both in my day, and ended up side lined both times I made the show. I would say whatever works for you? Make it happen to be healthy and 100% ready by August 1st! You have all seen the factories pull guys right from Loretta's right to factory status, Stroupe, Dungy and Barcia most recently. So this is were dreams are made right here.

The economy has all but killed our sports growth to that next level, like it should be. Just as the ball got rollen and the sport really started to gain the momentum to be the next NASCAR. The stock market, housing, auto and other major markets all crashed like never seen before by most. And yet with all that, Loretta's will still have the same number of entries as last year, and the year before. Why? Well, to start there is only 40 gates per class. But my point is, someone will always want and take that last gate pick. The race is that important to the racer! Loretta's brings out the best of the best in every aspect too. Riders, to photographers, film makers, all media outlets really, sponsors, the factories, everything is top notch and anyone that's anyone will be at the race. And you can not forget the promoters too, MXSports! Who is also in charge and at large for the pro nationals now too. So if you like what you have seen of them, expect the same job here as well. I do know Andy Bowyer runs a tight ship over there and does all he can to make it as fair of an event as it can be. Which is a very tough job. The rules have changed over the years and they seem to be for the best. So kudo's on that to the MXSports group.

While we have a lot of really great riders here in the MDRA and D-6 that made it in to Loretta's, they will be tested to the max next week, all week! In whatever weather comes their way. We do have some top riders out for the show who made it but got hurt in the "tween" weeks racing. And for those guys I feel really bad for you all, and can relate to 100%. It is racing though, and as they say, there is always next year? Those words never seems to make it any easier. The kids, girls and guys all ready to go, we all need to root them on. Give them the support to do the best they can. We really do have several chances for national titles to come back to the MDRA and D-6 area. I personally been out of it for several weeks and can not name all you guys now, for fear of leaving someone out.  I hope you all have a great week, a safe week and come home with a great finish for your hard work. Good luck racers.........go get' em!!

A quick going over MXSports results, the amateurs in the big dance are listed here ( from Mt. Morris regional ) Some did make it in other regions first, so not listed. Kudo's guys!! They all are PA, MD, VA, NY, or MDRA, PAMX, or Ultimate racers too. And still may have missed some as I said so sorry to those cats.....and good luck to all!!!
